Island Offsets is a programme of the National Trust for the Cayman Islands, a non-profit NGO created to preserve the history and biodiversity of the Cayman Islands.  Our mission is: 

"To preserve natural environments and places of historic significance in the Cayman Islands for present and future generations."

To fulfill this mission, it is imperative that we address the issue of climate change head-on.  By offering local businesses the ability to offset their carbon emissions right here at home, we are providing a key mitigation measure for our country.  Fossil fuel use will be diminished while ecosystems critical to meeting the threats of a changing climate are protected.  These projects then have the further benefit of increasing Cayman's energy independence, contributing to the local economy, educating the next generation of local leaders, and providing critical habitat for Cayman's unique wildlife.
 
Our partner, GreenTech Environmental, is committed to positively impacting lives by providing world-class sustainability solutions to the Caribbean market. They offer a host of unique services; from LEED Certification, Green Building Products, Sustainability Consulting and Education to Carbon and Environmental Assessments. GreenTech also created Project Green School, a programme that links donations from corporate sponsors to schools in the Cayman Islands. Each school is provided with a solar array that students are able to monitor, as well as use to learn about various aspects of renewable energy and sustainability.
